Summer Stretch (Youth)

During the summer months, the youth (those who are going into 6th grade and higher) are welcome to join in our Summer Stretch program. The cost varies depending on the activity for the day and youth are encouraged to bring a friend. Each summer stretch day will contain a time of service and also a time of fun. Service activities in the past have included: cutting jeans for Sole Hope, cleaning up a park, and making meals for Meals from the Heart to name a few. Our fun events that follow have included Como park/zoo, playing games at a beach, and going to Valleyfair.

In 2018, our youth partnered with other youth from Gustavus Adolphus, Lakeview and Our Redeemer.

We have not determined our schedule for 2019 or with which churches we are partnering.

Events for 2018 included:

June 13:  Community Garden in Chisago City, games at William O’Brien State Park, ice cream at Nelson’s in Stillwater.

June 20:  Thrivent Builds/Habitat for Humanity at Gustavus Adolphus, Trapped Puzzle Room, Dairy Queen.  Remember closed toe shoes!

July 11:  1st Lutheran Listening House and Saint Paul Saints Baseball Game.  Bring bag lunch if desired or bring money to buy lunch at the game.

July 18:  Seasons Senior Living and Como Water Park.  Bring bag lunch.  Remember swim gear.  If you want to buy snacks at the waterpark, bring extra money.
